I think about the widest you can go is a 205, but it also depends on the tire. Some tire profiles tend to vary, so I would measure them. It also may depend on the tire pressure. I have a GYTT 205/60/16 on my 04 Neo and didn't do any grinding at all. I have maybe a 1/16 to 1/4" clearance between the drive shaft and the tire. I run about 40-41 PSI in the tire because it felt squishy when I ran it with a lower PSI. It has never rubbed and I have scraped pegs in both directions with the CT on. I know others have ran different types of tires, but I think they all went with a 205. I am sure the next step up to a 215 would rub unless you went with maybe a 215/45/16 or some thing like that. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,
First time poster on this forum.
I've an '04 VTX 1800 Neo and flat spotted my rear tire down all the way through the cords earlier this week........don't ask .
Anyhow, I just saw that Avon came out w/a 200 that I'd be able to use, I love the Avon tires but at the same time I'm seriously considering a CT for my bike. I've done quite a bit of research to this point but I would like to figure out what size tires would fit on the N w/o any modifications or issues with rubbing.
There are quite a few of you with C's but not a lot here with the N and it's big sweeping fender.
If you've a CT on your N or have seen one, what makes and sized of tires were utilized?
Thanks for sharing,
Brian

tires
Can't say for sure about the 1800N but I just put a 195/65 15 on my 1300S with no clearance issues and could have easily gone to the 205. With the 16 wheels and no need to seal you should have no problems with at least a 205, the fender is similar to the S model. But someone with more experience will chime in soon. Good luck. By the way, where in Chattanooga, I used to live in Dalton GA just south.

same sizes for the N...
I have an N fender on my F with a 215/45/18...
I did grind the inner brace a little, but don't know that I had to. Each individual tire even if listed as a 205 is a little different in width... my 215 is about the same width as most 205's people are running.... shop for tires and when you find some you like, dig into their specs...

Thanks for the replies Guys,
I'm actually in Ooltewah Dave. We were off of Germantown near I24 for a while while we were building our home in Ooltewah. It was completed in January '07 so I guess we're coming up on 2 years in Ooltewah. We moved here in July '06 from Oregon.
Thanks for the info Nada, I've been watching your posts here as well as on the vtxoa site. I'm looking at the Michelin HydroEdge 205 65 16. Both Sears stores near me have them in stock for about $135 so I'm planning on picking one up after work this afternoon.
I'm also hoping that the install will go smooth without any grinding at all. That would be ideal, but if I have to get in there and grind a bit I'll just appreciate it that much more. I'm thinking it'll fit though with all the posts I've seen to this point.
Anyhow, thanks again,
Brian

Know a litte about that area, we cut through Ooltewah on our way up to Harrison Bay state park. Family has a house boat at the marina there. Nice area with easy access to most anything.

Hey Dave,
We're down Hunter Road just a few miles from Highway 58, which is the road that goes out to Harrison Bay.
We like it out here.
