2007 VTX1300s Tire recomendations
New to site and the darkside but am very interested in going with a CT on my 2007 VTX1300S. I've been reading post and it seems that the michellin hydroedge is the favorite brand and I thought P205/70R15 was the recommended size, but I did see one post that said they wouldn't fit on original spoke rims (He recommened 165/80/15). Anyone with hands on experience, what is the largest tire I can use on my stock rims?

I just put this tire on my 1300 r http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/tires/goodyear/product/submitProductSize.do?pc=31648&typ=Passenger%2FPerformance&tmn=Assurance+TripleTred I don't know for sure if that size will fit the spoked rim. I do know that spoked rims are harder to get the tires to seat because of the tube unless you seal them.

Thanks for the info. Would you recommend smaller tire ie 195 or 185?

Why would a tube make seating harder? Pressure is pressure, and I can't see anything standing in the way of seating using a tube - mine seated fine.

Well, I bought a GYTT 205/70/15 and its at the shop now being mounted. Will post the results. I had to do something, my tire was in dire straights.

I have mine at 32 lbs, started at 38, 32 for me rides real nice. Good luck, the more you ride it the better it gets. It will be a little bit intimidating at first but that will go away after a tank or two, when you start to trust it. Good tire choice.

Mounted tire last night, had short test run and then used for work this morning. I've put about 50 miles on it and really like it. I reduced the pressure to 32 and have to agree that it makes a nice ride, not too hard and not mushy. Thanks for all of you guys help.
