The Kumho is a good tire that does mount. The falken .... not so much
See you out there

Re: falken tire
One guy mounted his successfully and the other had problems getting it to bead all the way! Even with it not beaded all the way he loved his Falken, he only found out when someone riding behind him noticed it!
I thinks it was just a faulty tire and that happens with any brand car or motorcycle tire! It should be fine! Now because it is such a performance tire, it's going to be harder to mount! But don't give up...most darksides on the 1300's are hard to mount! Good luck with you decision!

Re: falken tire
My kumho 165 went right on.
My Faulken, we tried very hard, but never got it to bead. Course this was the dead of winter. Going to try it this month and see if the heat helps.
if you want something that goes right one, go with one that has worked for someone else. You shoudl not be afraid of trying a different tire with a cool tread pattern or higher treadwear. Just be prepared to have to put a different tire on or go to greater lengths to get it to seat.
And be sure to post your results....

Re: falken tire
I couldn't find a 512 when I looked.
I ended up with the 329 - see my post at:
https://mcdarksiders.forumotion.com/vtx-1300-tech-f11/tomorrow-is-the-day-t1427.htm
Had to take it up to about 110 psi - but it popped.
Got 1k on it so far - lovin' it.

It is almost time to get a new one
Ok i all ready put more than 13000 miles on the 205 / 65 / 15 FALKEN and like it a lot, it is almost time to star thinking on a new CT tire (never will be back on a MT ), will go to the 205 / 70 / 15 might be the HYDROEDGE or the GENERAL GABBER, INITIALLY I RUN 40 PSI ON THE falken BUT AFTER A WILE I LOWER IT TO 36 PSI WITH NITROGEN, DOES ANY KNOW ABOUTH WHAT CAN I SPECT FROM THE 205/70 COMPARED WITH THE 205/65 ?

Re: falken tire
You're lucky, I tried to mount a Falken on a sealed spoke, 150 lbs and it wouldn't go on, then the bead ripped taking it off exposing a huge unforgiving thick strand cable. Later got a C rim and left spokes on front. Every body has their opinion but I' m a tubeless tire on a tubeless rim guy.

This is the FALKEN 205/65 R 15 c/t after 15500 K next to the new GENERAL GRABBER 205/70 R 15, i get used to the falken but the GENERAL handle much better at any conditions, beads seat at just 60 PSI, I'm very happy with it

Re: falken tire
Filled with NITROGEN at 33 PSI and 3OZ of DYNA BEADS and this is what i did use to lubricate the beads and be able to seat them at only 60 PSI
