No worries man. When I wrote that it was all tongue in cheek, but I think I forgot to note it in the post. There's a lot of good info there for you to purge through. Good Luck and ....

As soon as the tire I have on now wears out I am going to. I tried it before but the tire would not seat. I have learned more tricks and will try again. About how many miles will a mc tire usually last?

I have had them last as short as 6000 miles to 9500 miles. My 750 Spirit I got 9500 out of it. My 1300 and daily riding, I only got around 7000 miles! It depends on how hard you ride...I have heard of guys getting 15,000 out of stock dunnies....... Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked I doubt it though. I couldn't get close to that!

I got this tire just so that I wouldn't have to switch out every 6K. I ride every day and a new tire every 6 months is a PAIN!! SO far it looks like I'm going to go for a while on my Kuhmo 165. David (I mean Darkside Shadow) probably has around or over 6K already.

There is about 6k on my kumho, and lot's of tread left. It will go 12 or 15 at least. New tires have treadware ratings. Some of the tires with higher ratings I'm wondering just how many miles could be put on them. I have a Faulkner 205 in the garage waiting to be put on, it's rated really high. We'll see how many miles it will do.....

If I want something a little wider on a 3.5 inch rim than a 165 80, how does a 185 75 or a 195 70 sound for my rim?

205 ... 205 ... 205 ... 205. Smile

Hey Steve-O and David, were our rims 3 1/2? Seems like I remember our being 4 1/2. You might be covering an untested area dirtwarrrior.

Those are all possibilities, but I had a hard time finding anything but a 165 and 205 in stock. You can order these sized on line though.

Yes, because the 165/80/15 is a tiny bit narrower than the stock dunnie! It looks wider because of the larger contact patch of the footprint. All other sizes come just a little too short in height.

I don't know if this has been answered or not. I did a search but did not find it.

Why is it harder to seat a CT on a MC rim?
