Which works better on the 1300c?
I see that some of you are running the 205/65/15 and some using the 205/65/16 I know the 16 inch will give you a little more tire heigth, but is there any other noticable difference between the two tires? I'm a little confused on this
Re: Which works better on the 1300c?
The 16 is for the 16" wheel of the 1800VTX. the tire sizes break down like this (example being 205/65R15)
205 - This is the tire width in milimeters
65 - this is the aspect ratio of tire height to width, in other words the height is 65% of the width
15 - this is the wheel diamter in inches.
So if you wanted a 15 inch tire that is lsightly taller than the 205/65R15 you would need to go to a taller aspect ratio which would be a 205/70R15. I'm running a 70 series and many others are running the 65 series. My tire is a tad taller than theris lowering my rpm's at cruise and increasing ground clearance while cornering. The tradeoff would be ever so slightly less acceleration off the line due to the bigger tire.
The 16" wheel off the VTX1800 is wider which allows for a wider tire with a flatter footprint, but at the expense of buying the wheel, brakes (or modifying your existing rear breaks to fit)
Did that answer your questions??

Re: Which works better on the 1300c?
will the 70r15 effect the speedo VS the 65r15? I know the VTX is notoriously off by 5mph slower than whats being shown on the speedo.
Re: Which works better on the 1300c?
The speedo will be closer with the taller tire. Mine was off by 10% stock and now is only off by 7% with the 70 series tire.

Re: Which works better on the 1300c?
my bike mph stock was 20% off or 10mph at 50 mph. in other words i was going 50 mph when my speedometer was reading 60mph.
Now with the new tire i am only off 6% or 3mph at 50 mph.

If you want to save $$ stick with the 15". I did the full foots mod..1800's rear 16" wheel and brakes and can run the 205/65/16.
