1800f Cooper Zeon Issue

Post  sofljoe on Mon Feb 18, 2013 11:57 am

I was previously running a Michelin Pilot 215/45 18 on my 1800f without issue. The tread had finally worn away, so I researched and replaced it with a 215/45 18 Cooper Zeon ZPT. The tire mounted up without any real issues, had to remove the plastic cover on the left side to slide it on and replace once the tire was past it, but everything went together no issue. It appeared it was close to rubbing the left side (looking at the bike from the rear) swingarm, but had more room on the right side. I could spin the tire without rubbing and when I lowered the bike back onto the tires, it wasn't rubbing. I took it for a test ride and when I came back I noticed it was rubbing some on the left side. Is it normal to have more room on the right side then the left? I thought it should be even. I can't see how it can be off center, since the spacer and brake caliper bracket are on the right side, and they are all mated up and tight. However, when I look at the bike from the rear, it appears the tire is too much to the left, doesn't look centered.

So anyone running the Cooper Zeon ZPT have any issues with swingarm rubbing? Is it possible to not be centered on the axle? Any help is appreciated.

You can loosen and center the rear fender, that is probably why it looks off center.
