Crazy ride .... again Empty Crazy ride .... again

Actually not such a crazy ride as it was a crazy interaction with a couple cagers the last few days.

Yesterday I put about 5 hours in the saddle to pick up and old stereo receiver. On the ride home I was travelling on the slab west bound on I70 out of Indy. A fella in a big assed RV hammer down in the left lane and no indication that he was getting over as he had leared the last truck about 4 miles ago. I jumped over into the right lane to pass him and as I gassed on it to pass him he decided to literally swing into the right lane. I was about halfway up his flank when he jerked it over on me. I was able to jump into the emergency lane and avoid him killing me while laying on the horn. I grabbed a handful of brakes and fell in behind him.
Ensuring the left lane was clear I jumped into the hammer lane and passed him on the left. Just as I am passing the cab area this old codger damn near climbes out the window and scream "what the fu%& were you doing over there". I swear I heard Barney Fife.

Now obviously he saw me, heard me, whatever. He damn sure did not give me any room to manuever nor did he take any evasive action. "Screw the dude on the bike I am going to the right lane" And to the right lane he went.

All you can do is shake your head and gas it to get away from the idiots.

Today I was riding in the little college town near home and as I pull out from a traffic light (in the left lane on a 2 lane road) a little girl comes from the right not even attempting to slow, signal or attempt to stop and she makes a right turn into the right lane. I throttle up the scoot and leave the light, just as I am at about shoulder she decides to jump on over into the left lane. Without a glance she comes over into my lane trying to share space with me. Thankfully I had a center turn lane to jump into. I laid on the horn again as I evaded her. Apparently whatever town she comes from the horn means the lane is clear, please procede. I dropped behind her in the left lane then proceded to pass her on the right. She at least looked apologetic as I help up my hand in a WTF? gesture.

Y'all be careful out there, they are all trying to kill us.

While I am here typing I may as well let ya know about the mile stone .... I just celebrated 2 years with the wing, in that time I have only managed to put a tad over 58,000 miles on it. I think I need to get out and ride more often. ...... Yeah that's it. I need a road trip.

See you out there

As we gain population, there are less police presence per capita, and people are getting bolder with stoopid
moves, and more careless with the rules of the road. I probably use the "WTF' gesture 3-4 times a week, and
just leave off many other times.
I wonder what you did prior to passing the geezer in the pickup? When I have a fast lane hog, I'll usually flip my
brights a couple times, which when on, shuts off my auxiliary lamps. If they don't move, I'll add the horn to that.
After that, if I don't do the zigzag as well, I'll go to pass them. By then, they dam well know I'm there and I'm not
very happy.
But stoopid is as stoopid does, and you STILL can't expect any right moves from them. Plus, some hate us,
wallowing in their ignorance, and smug in their complacency of "safety" in their cages. How many times have I
wanted to shoot someone's back tire out. Hard to shoot back when your hands are full of business, but some
innocent could get hurt too.

As an ex OTR (Over The Road) trucker, I would mention here that early morning hours bring out people who have:
Not made their coffee stop yet.
Didn't scrape frost or wipe dew off their windows.
Coffee doesn't work on.
Have two jobs and are wasted with fatigue.
Are going home from last night's party.
Are working food service early hours and possibly are not the most conscious people on the road.
Are just simply stupid.
Are still AT last night's party.
