car tire? are you crazy?

I was getting a car tire installed on my bike once upon a time. As he was working and asking questions I told him about this website. He proceded to tell me how the whole thing was probably orchestrated by one individual to see how many people he could sucker into trying this ct thing. Told me how I will probably end up crashing and getting killed, while telling me he remembered bikes used to come with car tires. After I got the tire on the bike and went for a test ride, I wanted to come back here and thank the one guy that created this whole site and all the members in his head. What I found was a great group of guys that through their love of riding they created something wonderful. You can get all the information you want here with out all the BS that goes on on other sites. To those of you out there thinking about switching to a ct, welcome, make yourself to home and do all the research you need to make yourself comfortable with the idea. To those of you that have made the switch, congradulations and welcome to a great group of people. Your knowledge and experience is as valuable as anyone elses, so take your shoes off sit back and share your info with those that ask.

hmm,i must be competely out of my mind cause my ct is causing me to operate my bike better than i ever have.its plain and simple really,those that talk crap about it have a closed mind besides not having 1 lil clue about the actual safety of a ct on a bike.just the fact that there is more rubber on the pavement and great braking should be enough evidence that it makes a whole lot more sense...but,there is alot of peeps you just cant reach lol.i'm just very thankful for this site and the peeps that are willing to share their info about what they have done with the ct to have made it possible for me to enjoy a ct on my bike.thanks ya'll

Apparently. Studied this for a year before I did it. Took a while to come across something that fit a GL 1500. Tried it cautiously at first, doing figure 8's in the church parking lot ( in case I was killed, I wanted to be close by, you know ?) Held my breath, waiting for my testicles to shrivel up, and my hair to burst into flame (still waiting, but could only hold my breath for so long.) Listened to one of my friends, a rider of probably 50 years experience tell me why I was going to DIE from putting a car tire on my Goldwing. ( now he seems to be more attuned to it, since I have not yet died. He hasn't said anything about being disappointed that he wasnt right, though.) Have ridden in the rain twice, waiting for the dreaded hydroplaning to sail me off the road, into a cow pasture where I'll be trampled to death by frightened Holsteins.
Hmmmm. Not playing out like its supposed to is it ?
Dont guess I'll put the Metzler back on after all.

I got caught in the rain the other day. No crash and burn ... a little wet though.

No fender. 205 wide tire. On wet roads an 8" wide track on my back.
Sure I hate that , but da... I LOVE that safe feeling of traction.

Did you guys really try the car tire! Oh! Snap...I didn't have a clue you guys/gals would really try to attempt this ludicrous joke.........

I guess I will really have to put one on my bike now and see if it works........ Car tires are for cars!
