Hi, new guy wannabe here

I've been reading about the darkside for a good while now and would really like to try it. Unfortunately, I can't find any car tires that will work with either of my bikes. I have a 1976 GL1000 and a 1982 GL1100i. If I ever find a tire that will fit, I'll try it, until then, I'll just be a wannabe.

Larry, what size are your stockers. Give us some info to work with and you miht be surprised what this bunch of hard headed resourceful motor cycle riding bad asses might come up with.

I am running a 13/90x16 on the 76 and a mu90x16 on the 82. I think the mu90 is a 140/90, but not sure. The biggest problem with both bikes is the width. There's not a lot of room because of the swing arm on the 76, and the swing arm and brake setup on the 82. I was where people are running a 205/80x16 on the GL1200, but the width is too much for the 1100 and the 1000. The 140/90x16 is only 5.5" wide, and that's about as wide as you can go without doing some major mods. I double checked the size on the mu90 and it does cross to the 140/90.
