just got to the Darkside, rode my bike for the first time & holy cr*p. just got to ride it around my house & boy what a difference. can't wait til i can take it for a longer putt. give it some gas & the bike just jumps up, must be from the grip from my UHP. man!!! it's never lifted up like that before. next thing is the clutch, can hear it slip if i get on it too much. thanx for all the postings & how to's. it sure helped alot.

Be careful, don't jump too high. Laughing
Glad you like it and enjoy it.
Many tires come with a tiny layer, so take your time, a couple of hundreds
to get rid of the mold.
Robert.

I found that using course sand paper will help to ger rid of the mold coating on the tire before riding. Atleast you will have a good start with better traction when first riding with a new tire.

Read this before, seems an easy but effective way to get rid of it to me.

My method was to run around the neighborhood for a half hour at about 25 mph, taking the corners down to the boards. Never felt it slip, ever, and I got pretty active with it after that ride.

On some of my new motorcycle tires, I just did a burnout in shop on the concrete floor to rub off the mold release. I had to make sure I leaned it from side to side to get it rubbed off for cornering too. Works for me.

a post with a pic of my bike in his garage needly sawn into some pieces. Crying or Very sad

Smokey, I'm all set to go the around the 3th week of May to meet you all in GA, hoping this will
work out for Moon. We're going on holiday this Friday (Orlando) for a week followed by a week
on a cruise departing and arriving from Ft. Lauderdale.
Will be back April 3 and end of April I need to book and also need to arrange insurance.
Still a long time before even seeing the bike, pretty strange feeling. Just hope I don't ride a trike
when I meet you guys. Wink
Trike with Dooley's ? Rolling Eyes
Robert.
