2005 R CT
Hey guys. I bought a 2005 R of which I hope to ride her up to Georgia in April.
The bike stays with Moon and I need some stuff, like a CT.
Never had a fender on my old bike, of which I had a 205 and later on a 225.
Question: Can I run a 205 under the fender?
Let me know. Thx. and hope to meet you in April.
Robert.

205 is a perfect fit. Which one is the real choice.

Re: 2005 R CT
205/70-15 wont give you any mounting problems. 205/65-15 can sometimes take over 100 lbs to seat.

Before you order your tire. Give me a chance to find it. I think I might be able to get. I just learned from my wife that we have an friend that works at a warehouse and can get up just a tad over cost. That goes for the rest of yall too.
Peace
Moon

Re: 2005 R CT
Hey Moon. Thx. Will wait for sure, also I need to, since I don't know what tires are on the bike
right now. Depending the present front tire I've to decide to go with a 205/70 or a 205/65.
Might as well go double dark at once. In fact that will be triple dark.
Will keep you posted about the bike and accessories.

Re: 2005 R CT
I took my 250/70R15 Hydroedge and rim to a local tire shop yesterday. He couldn't get it to seat at 55 psi. He says the rim is too narrow. With the amount of people that are running that tire on here, I think I'll pick it up today, bring it home, lube it up good and try it myself.

You might have to take it up to 100 psi to get it to seat. Be very very careful it get risky up there. But a 70 series will seat, and the ride is worth the effort.

Bead
I removed the needle air valve from the stem and put one of those "lock on chucks" on the tire on the end of a 20 ft air hose, with no presssure on, had it laying in the driveway 20ft away, then started increasing the air on the compressor end of the hose, Bead set at 72 psi. Be ready to remove the hose by quick disconnect at the compressor to releive the pressure quickly, Safer this way!

Thats the way to do it. Now get it on the bike and ride. But be sure to wear off any mold release before getting to aggressive. Say 100 miles, one good burn out, or a trip down a dirt road.

It took 115 to seat. I had it sitting as far from the garage as I could stretch the air hose, probably about 100 feet. Put the locking air chuck on it and increased at 5psi intervals until it seated.
