2005 Nomad 1600 with Motorvation Formula ll Hack
Hi All,
With a sidecar rig the advantage of moving to the Darkside just seems more than right. It looks to be a choice between 205/60/16 or 205/65/16. Any advantage one over the other, will the 65 have clearance issues. Also plan on doing front and rear, leaning with a hack isn't a problem (or rather if I lean to far it is a big problem), any front tire issues I should know about other than the reverse mount for braking? Thanks for any/all help in advance.

Re: 2005 Nomad 1600 with Motorvation Formula ll Hack
Santa,
The car tire benefits side cars the same as traditional motorcycles the same. Now whether the 60 or 65 series is better on the Nomad, I can't say because I ride a 1300 VTX. But someone should come along and help you with your decision.
I just want to thank you for coming by and introducing yourself to our site.

re 2005 nomad 1600 with motorvation formula 11 hack
I am running the 60 on mine but I think either would be fine, your choice I think you will be pleased with the upgrade I know I am. Also remember actual size will vary from one manufacturer to another.I am running the gytt 205-60-16 on my 05 nomad,it has credit card clearence on the shaft tube.

Don't know about the rear, But check out the Avon Roadrider rear tire for the front. It is listed for front and rear fitment so you can mount it in arrow rotation.

"KawaHack" now on the Darkside!
The deed is done, Larry Simpson (and others) tell the truth. The GYTT 205R60/16 fits and when I let go with my AMEX credit card between the tire and drive shaft tube it fell to the ground, barely... Even the tire installer was surprised. I am running 40PSI with the sidecar and my lard butt (275lb). The ride seems smoother and it seems to push less (another sidecar deal) even though I can adjust that with the hydraulic lean adjust for road shapes. Photos attached... without saddle bags

Speedo
Just an FYI--I will never, repeat NEVER, go back to a MC tire. Love the ride, the look, and I hope the mileage. Speedo is off about the same as before, maybe a mile closer but about 5 mph slower at 60 accoarding to my handheld Garmen etrex GPS, acceptable to me. Loving the GYTT. Oh did I say I will never go back to a MC tire?
