Finally got it done !!!!
After a great deal of research, I finally got a Federal 175/60/16 mounted on my Goldwing 1500 and I can't believe how much I like this set up. It is so much smoother, quieter and cheaper than a MT that I am sure I will never have anything else on the back of this bike.
I have only put 50 miles on the tire but the differences are already starting to fade. All of the things posted here are true regarding the tire following ruts ect... but if you just ride the bike you will forget those things in 15minutes. Also, for me at least, those side effects of the car tire were also much less pronounced than I thought they would be. I was concerned about how the bike would sit on the kick stand and the center stand but I have no problems with either one. One of the most pleasant things I noticed right away was the fact that the bike is almost 2 inches lower than before because the profile of the tire is lower. Gonna take the spouse out for some 2 up riding this weekend and I can't wait to see how the new tire feels then. Thanks to everyone here for all of the information and if anyone needs any info regarding the mounting of the tire or the riding charistics feel free to contact me through this forum.
Thanks again
Travis
