Going Darkside tomorrow.
I will be installing a GYTT 205/60-16 on my 03 1800c . I bought the bike from the original owner last summer. Only had 5400 miles on it. They had just put new Mtz 880 front and rear. I now have almost 11k on the bike and the rear tire is bald. Looking forward to going to a CT. Most of the guys I ride with all run them. I will post my experiences later.

Congrats and do post some pics and give us your input?
****** Remember, air pressure will make all the difference in the world. Ask Buddha1800, I lowered the pressure on his bike and it made all the difference in the world.

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
Well I got the tire on last night but didnt have time to ride. I left the bike at work and got my wife to take me in this morning so I could ride this afternoon. When I got to work the tire was flat. So after taking it back off and checking it, it has a hole in the sidewall where the tread meets the sidewall just under the seam. Another tire ordered and now waiting and still cant ride.

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
May be gremlins, I dont know. I couldn't believe that it had a small pin hole in the sidewall. Never seen that before. That's quality control for you. I hope the new tire comes in tomorrow, weather is supposed to be in the upper 60's to low 70's the next couple of days before the rain hits Saturday. I am jonesing to try it out.

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
Dont get so antsy that you get careless. Give it a couple hundred miles to break in before going crazy with it.

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
Well I got to ride the new GYTT today and boy what a difference. I absolutely love it. I felt a little odd when I pull out of the driveway at work and it didnt lean like I was used to. After a couple of turns it was fine. Put about 80 miles on it. Where I live there are a lot of back roads with lots of twists and turns. Heck the road I live on has 3 90 deg turns an one 45 deg and its one lane. Didn't take me long at all to get used to riding with it. I was running a Metz 880 and some times if I pushed it a little it would sometimes feel like it was about to brake loose. With the CT it never felt loose at all. I even scraped the pegs a couple of times. Acceleration was great, never once felt it slip. I am glad I went this way instead of putting a MT back on it. I will give it a spin next week 2 up and see how that is. I will definitely be putting some miles on it until the rain hits this weekend.
I came home with a big
I will try to get some pics of it this weekend.

Welcome Aboard Glad you're diggin it, I'll bet your passenger will notice a better ride also.
If you do get caught in the rain you'll be impressed even more by the wet traction, it's amazing, have fun

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
I have about 300 miles on it at this point . The last 100+ was done 2 up. My wife is on the small side. I hardly notice she is even on the bike other than the tap on the shoulder when I get a little aggressive or too fast. This has been the best addition to the bike I have done to date. The more I ride the more I love it.
Here is a some pics of the Bike before with the old bags on it.

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
Update, Put a lot of miles on it last week. Settled the pressure at 36 psi. Took the wife out riding over last weekend and she said the bike rode better. I have gotten a lot comments and most are that it looks awesome on the bike and the next one was how do you like it? Most of the people with bikes say they want to try one on theirs. I still love it. Traction is great even in wet conditions, had a chance to try that last Sat morning. Rain had just quit when I left the house.

Update
I know have over 1k on the tire. Last weekend the wife and I took a 325 mile trip on the bike with some friends and it was awesome. My wife is usually only good for 40 or 50 miles at a stretch before she needs to get off. We rode 140 miles straight on the way home. The bike rode so much different.

Re: Going Darkside tomorrow.
Still happy. Striped the bike down to a solo rider for a while and lowered the rear by 1". Boy does this thing feel nimble now. I was making a hard accelration messing with a riding buddy and hammered it in second and the front wheel came off the ground. Wasnt expecting that. It used to just spin the back tire if I did that. I will never to back. I am now an official Darksider.
