Harley again
New guy to this site,
Thanks for staring the forum, great info!
I have a 07 1200 sportster for specific reasons! I am NOT a HARLEY guy. In short it is the most power on the smallest bike I could find. Now to really confuse everyone I will be putting a sidecar on it ASAP.
The rear tire is 150/90/16 according to what I figure that is 5.9 inches wide by 26.62 tall. There is room for a taller tire and MIGHT get by 6" width. The rim is cast aluminum.
I checked the search for all things Harley and was crushed to find no good news. HELP
Spent a lot of time on the Cocker site anyone EVER use the Excelsior tires? Good/bad reputation???? Looking at the:
550r16 Excelsior Stahl
26.5 tall
5.9 max width
4-5" rim
Question is on the rim mine is only 3" is this a concern, big no no!!???
Any advise would be great and no laughing at the Harley

Re: Harley again
Clean the rim good, use a lot of lube on the tire. Should slip on with out much trouble at all.
You are going to have to let us know so the other Harley guys will have some much needed info.

Re: Harley again
Thanks guys,
I believe it will go on the rim, my concern is the width. Rim is 3" and the tire is speced for 4+, any known problems here.
Also any idea the quality of the Excelsior??? Who makes it?
