Re: Darkside rear for Yamaha 950
looks like a 175/70-16 would be within 1% of your stock tire, but I am not having much luck finding one. A little more info about how much clearance you have width and height wise would help trying to locate a suitably sized tire...
try tire calc at the bottom you can type in the MC tire size and anything around it in a CT size. such as a mc tire will be 170, 180 ect and ct's are in 175, 185, ect... the second number is an aspect ratio to the first number, so if you wanna keep the same height and you increase the 1st number, decrease the second... play around with that keeping in mind your clearance and what is available in ct sizes...
hope that makes sense and is useful.

With a 16" rim....you will be limited like the HD guys and they don't offer many sizes at all that are narrow enough for you. I hope you find something and if you do...please let us know?

still looking
My mc tire is 6.5" wide. I have room for a little over 1" on each side before hitting the fender. 5 3/4 " on the hight(bottom of mc tire to the top). Last the rim is 4.5" wide. As you said the with is a concern. I am going to mesure some tires here localy and see what they are. Sizes range from---- 150-70, 175-60,195-55, and 205-50. We will see. Let me know what you think.. All these tires state a 5.5" " rim or bigger.
Thank You

You are telling me that you have 2.5 inches between your belt and the edge of your tire. Is that correct? That sure does sound like a lot of space, but if that is true you have a hook up to put a fat a$$ tire on that bad boy.

Thank You
The "BIG GUY" is the man,she is home now but will be going slow for a long while.
The mc tire again is 6.5" wide at the widest point, the fender will only give you 1"on each side more,or 8.5" not allowing a lot of clearience. The rear arm has 2" on each side, but again the fender is the most narrow. I am going to go and measure some tires and check there numbers.
Thanks for the prayers!!!!!!
