Static balance or Dyna beads Empty Static balance or Dyna beads

2005 VTX1800 N with a Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread 205/60/16 with 40 psi. I static balanced the tire when I put it on and it only took 1ounce of weight. I have put about 200 miles on it so far and it rides great. I am about to take the bike up on a ride into Canada in June. I know that alot of riders use Dyna beads but has anyone just static balanced their tires and not have to use the beads???greazman(Rich) Cool

I am running the same tire as you ,I started out with static balance and added the dyna beads,a year later just as a precaution without removing static weights ,works fine for me. Very Happy Very Happy

I static balance to find the total weight then I add DB's in that same amount. I don't continue using the weights.
I balance about 35-50 tires a year.

if you use dyna beads, you don't ever have to balance the tire again.

I use "air soft pellets" to balance my tires and they work great and a lot cheaper than dyna beads. I use the .12 plastic pellets so it should take about 228 pellet count to make an oz. and install them before you seat the bead.

******* Note: Use the .12 gram pellets instead of the .20 gram!

Static balance or Dyna beads Empty Dyna Beads for us

Post  Huzzunga_Din Wed Apr 14, 2010 6:19 pm

Hello all, I haven't posted in a while. 3700 hard ass winter miles later and I/we love the Goodyear Tire. Probably would have had a few hundred more, but the wife had heart surgery, so I drove her car when it snowed and iced.
I have the Dyna Beads in, and the most noticeable improvement is our asses don't seem to move independent of the seat movement. So our asses are not on fire after 200 miles. No butt chaffing is what I am talking about.
That's my two cents, I am staying with the beads
