1500 Wing DS. Empty 1500 Wing DS.

I've decided to go to the ds and put one of the Federal Formozas on the rear, but my front tire is in need of replacement as well. Any suggestions? I've been seeing something in here about putting a rear tire on or something. What's the difference? Thanks

Or what brand tire should I use? I've heard the pilot gt or something, and the me880. I've got elite 2s on it right now. Just a general consenus. I tried searching for posts but didnt really find one that gave me the info i was looking for.

If you put a rear mt on the front it will last longer. I've seen reports in the mid 20,000 range. Now the debate between mounting rotation can begin. I say reverse the rotation.

Ill have to agree with Unk Jer. The reason is the rear tire was built to withstand forces from acceleration (sp?) and the front is for stopping. By reversing the rotation you should accomplish the same. I will be doing this when my front gets down to the belts.

Well from what i've seen on the other 2 bikes i have,if you follow the arrow, on a matching set of front and rears, the front tire's tread goes the opposite direction. eithe rthat or i managed to get 2 mis-marked tires. Ha, would be just my luck. So what size would i get? as wide as the rear thats on it or??????

And the next question.. Anyone wanna suggest a brand? I put 12k on the elite 2's and they were 10 years old. Im amazed they've lasted this long, the back one is bald, and the front is starting to crack and is cupped horribly. I'm open to listen to anyones opinion about tires. I dont really know much about different ones. I go with what ppl tell me. I'm young and havent had too much experience with different brands.

1500 Wing DS. Empty loving the c/t

I absolutely love the way the bike handles and rides now.. Only complaint is some weird, "out to sea" type wobble around 90.. Butttt i guess thats what happens when a 23 y/o owns a goldwing. I have to shorten the kickstand though, the bike was lowered already so now it only sits a few degrees off straight up when its on the side stand...Glad I researched this! cheers cheers
