World War 1 War Hero Ride...Pall Mall, Tennessee
We are rollin' out this morning to go vist Alvin C. York in Pall Mall, Tennessee. This area would be a great place to have another Tennessee Ride-In . The Big South Fork is located near-by with outstanding roads for motorcycling and some beautiful country.Over the years we have took about every backroad in the area and rode through Pall Mall several times without stopping today we'll stop and pay respects to a great Tennessean.
Alvin Cullum York (December 13, 1887 – September 2, 1964) was a United States soldier, famous as a World War I hero. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest, taking 32 machine guns, killing 28 German soldiers and capturing 132 others. This action took place during the U.S.-led portion of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France, which was part of a broader Allied offensive masterminded by Marshal Ferdinand Foch to breach the Hindenburg line and ultimately force the opposing German forces to capitulate.

Cool Joe, been there a couple of times. Wish we had known about this earlier, would have liked to have riden back up there. Usually plan a ride up there at least once a year. He is a true American Hero!Smokin'joeVRCCDS#0005 wrote:We are rollin' out this morning to go vist Alvin C. York in Pall Mall, Tennessee.
