Thinking about a ct Empty Thinking about a ct

I commute to work and back on the bike rain or shine and ride a lot on the weekends.Average 3k a month.I like the idea of having more tread on the road and not having to replace the rear tire every 8k.I ride an 08' v-star 1100.I put on new tires about 4k ago,so when it's time for a rear tire I'll try a ct.I found what size of ct I would need, not sure what brand or tread type would be best. Will I need to change anything to keep the tire balanced?

tire will need to be balanced just like any other, dyna beads are a popular choice. Some folks prefer a directional tread, but it seems those without are happy too...

What size tire do you have on there now? I think there are a few darkside 1100's. I'd listen to to what they have tried.

I like a "cool" tread pattern. You'll be looking at it for awhile. I also like a more rounded shoulder on my tire.

I manually balance my tires when they first go on. Really, I would not have to do anything else. But I use dynabeads to balance my tire to keep it balanced for the life of the tire. I think they work great.

I've seen several 1100 vstars with 195/65/15's on them. But have also seen 165,175,&185's on some.
Is your wheel a mag, or are going to seal the spokes?
