Dyna Beads
What's the most mileage any of you have with Dyna Beads? What I mean is will I need to add more Dyna beads every 5000 miles or so because the Dyna Beads break down and turn into powder,,, or will they be good for the life of the tire?
Thanks,
Shannon

Re: Dyna Beads
Dyna beads are suppose to be ceramic. Shouldn't break down on you. People take them out and re-use them in the next tire if they can recover them.

Re: Dyna Beads
Twin, I don't think that is entirely true. They don't break down as much as glass and they don't deform as much as metal but they will eventually break down. You should easily be able to get 30,000 miles out of them, however.
Just change them when you change your tire and you should be fine.

Re: Dyna Beads
I wonder if I will be able to re-use my innertube if I can switch to the DS. I have found out that there is no such tire as a 150/70/16 like my Harley, but there IS a 155 I want to go measure before winter. I don't imagine there is any difference between a MC innertube and car tube, so it should work, right? (I have dyna beads in mine, so want to keep it all the more)

Re: Dyna Beads
The differance between 150 and 155 is about 3/16" total. I would think the innertube should work ( but that is a guess on my part). I just don't know if I would feel safe on a tube that was stretched twice to seat a tire.

Re: Dyna Beads
Mmmm...I don't see it that way, since the tube isn't really stretched, like they will outside of a tire. It only goes to the inner diameter and compresses, so I see no reason it wouldn't do that over and again. Unless I missed something.
Incidentally, is there a dating code on a tube like the tires have? Age would concern me.

Re: Dyna Beads
Car tire tubes are designed with the valve stem to come out at an angle, while on a motorcycle tube the valve stem comes out straight up. I don't think twisting a car tube around for the valve stem to come out on a motorcycle rim is a good idea. Anybody else have thoughts on this?
