Grandad rides again....
Been staying with Dad for awhile and he kept looking at my motorcycle, telling me of the stories of when he first got married and rode a little 75cc motorcycle delivering papers..... He finally asked me if he could ride it today. I thought what the heck. Once around the parking lot wouldn't hurt.
So, he took off his hearing aids, dawned my riding jacket, gloves and helmet. I went over all the controls and such. He hopped on and I took a picture of him just sitting there. I expected him to reconsider at this point. But I also recall him doing a backward handstand at 60 years old too.
Anyway, he turned it on, put the kickstand up and sparked her up. Next thing I knew he had it in gear and headed out the parking lot and down JFK BLVD. I just kind of shook my head. He never ceases to amaze me. Nearly 80 and buzzing around Little Rock without his hearing aids......
He came back about 15 minutes later. Parked it next to his car and got off with a big grin on his face. Raised an eyebrow and I just smiled back as I shook my head.
Hope I'm this spry at 78.

Re: Grandad rides again....
LOL! Wow Steve ... that was just mean. Takes a mean person to April Fool on the ol' heartstrings!
A friend of mine put a note on her "Facebook" page that she was adopting a little boy yesterday. 40 some-odd people left notes congratulating her, and today she commented that it was the best April Fool's joke she'd ever pulled.
I say that cuz at least none of us bought you a gift after you toyed with our emotions.

Re: Grandad rides again....
I'll bring a little reality to this thread.
A few years back my parents were visiting with me and my Mom asked me to drive her to her doctors appointment. I of course said yes, but in jest I told that I would only take her on my bike. She says, "OK" without missing a beat. I was kinda shocked, but it sure put a smile on face when she agreed.
I didn't second guess her. I geared her up, gave a few instructions and we took off.
One of favorite moments with my Mom.
Here's the proof.

Re: Grandad rides again....
You guys will never believe another thing I say!
I did take my mother in law for a short ride one time. She's 80. I was taking nieces and nephews for rides. She said she wanted a ride too. Had to help her on, but she had a great time. There's a video somewhere.
Of course you guys may not believe me now..... ;-)
