Check out this argument!!! You'd a thought someone would have just looked up the specs!

Re: Final Drive 1300 vs. 1800
I read through the 4 pages of crap and the people that actually have the drive swap are the only ones that have a clue on what is happening. The posted numbers on the gear ratios looks to be wrong, causing others to chime in with incorrect information, in addition to the trolls that are just looking to see their names on the Internet.
Re: Final Drive 1300 vs. 1800
several people on there have their theory right, just their facts wrong. Oh well, it's not worth my time to argue or even try to help out people who are too lazy to find the correct facts before they start tossing around their "thruths"

Re: Final Drive 1300 vs. 1800
From joelicketto on the OA.
The VTX1300 does indeed have a final drive ratio of 2.818 vs. the 1800's final drive ratio of 3.091. This would definitely give the final drive unit of the 1800 when installed in a 1300 more oomph off the line, but higher RPMs at cruising speeds.
The reverse is also true by installing a 1300 final drive in an 1800, more sluggish off the line, but lower cruising RPMs.
This matches the real world information from the guys that have done it!
