I just put the Bridgestone on my front tire today and am preparing to buy my rear CT. I've been looking but really have not found what I want ... yet! So any and all suggestions are welcome.

Let me tell you a little about my riding and bike first. I ride an '02 1800c. It is a custom bike and I think the fender is a little wider than normal (but since I am not normal, I don't know what that is). Smile I bought my bike in April of '07 and have put a little over 14,000 miles on it since. I travel a lot and take my bike whenever I can (going to Florida in Sept. and Alabama in Nov. and am planning to take the bike). I'm not around a lot of twisties, but love 'em when I can find 'em. I'm 5'6" and weigh about 140lbs. 95% of the time I ride alone. When I travel I will have about 50-75 lbs. of luggage on the back. Below is a pic of my recent trip to Colorado. Under that pic is one of a shot of the rear modified fender sporting the standard M/T.

So .... knowing that, what would you suggest. I would like something rated at 50k-80k miles, rated high speed would be fine. I'm fine with Walmart, Firestone, or mail. I just don't want to replace my rear tire every stinking year. affraid

All those tires have been tested and work. You will have to decide if you want 55 or 60 series and your prefered tread pattern......
The hunt for a tire is always fun, but riding is better...

Well... there are about 5 tires that seem to be most common... triple tread, hydro edge, potenza, proxes.... something else. Sorry, I don't recall. I DOUBT you'll have a terrible experience with any of them.

If you do a lot of highway miles, and speedo accuracy is your thing, I'd recommend in addition to dark side, picking up a 1300 final drive and running a 205/55. This nearly perfectly trues your speedo and puts you at lower RPM's in 5th gear...it's a lot like actually having that 6th gear you wished you could find all the time.

If you're not interested in doing that, go with a 205/60 or 205/65. I really like my Potenza. But again, I'm sure if I had a Hydro Edge or a Triple Tread, I'd be just as giddy about them. Car tires rock.

I like the potenza, but I have nothing to compare it to.

Are you sure your bike is a c and not and s with a chopped fender?

No, it's a C with different fenders. Look at the side covers. It sure wouldn't be an S.... it's got mags. Smile

If you want a "cool looking" tire, get the one Morgan has. You have to look close to figure out it's a car tire.
