No the rear does not push the front past its abilities. Remember that when the bike is thrown over into the twisties the front has a totally different attack angle due to the need for countersteering. I think you will find that no matter what ct you go with it will be a big improvement in the rain over a mt. But to maximize the effect check the wet rating of the tires and find the maximum grip you can.
