My bike is a 2007 VT1100, the shaft drive/swingarm is stock. I thought I'd see if anyone has any feedback on if/how it fits a shadow, I've seen some threads where people with other model bikes are running them and that they like the tire. I can scoop one of these up easy enough where I live. If anyone has feedback to offer on this tire, or other tires that mount up good and run good, all info is most appreciated.

I just signed up. Look like there's some O.K. people around here study

I had a 165 and a 195 on mine. I liked the way the 195 looked, but would go with a 185 or 175 for handling if I was going to do it again.
The 165 handles just like the stock tire except it lasts twice as long and has great stopping handling. But the wider tires look pretty cool. Can't go wrong with the 185,

I would also go with the 165 or 175 tire, better handling . Just get it in the same or close to the same height as your stock tire.

I've got over a 1000 miles on my 195/65/15 and not showing any signs of wear. I'm using the Douglas perfromance GT

No issues as far as handling and I really like the way it looks.

Thanks to Steve-O and others for your input.

I ordered a General Altimax HP 185/65r15 today. Gonna give that a try and see how she runs on it. I'm sure it'll be just fine.

Of course since the back tire is coming off, my mind has now wandered back to an old idea of pulling and modifying the airbox to accept an '89 Honda Prelude (2.0FI) air filter. It looks like another airbox will only run me 20 bucks if things don't end well hehe Vader

You'll be happy with that 185.

The tire is good  plus1

Ive been working with a new set of apehangers, rewired the controls, relocating the choke, some paint here and there, and the inevitable cold weather that has settled in (splitting firewood, etc)

Turned out was good I opted for the 185 width... I had not thought about my back fender, it is not stock. It is a modded fender off an old FLH. Were the tire any wider, it woulda been rubbing.
