wanting to run a 150/160 on a 1800c

I've got a 02 vtx 1800c and need to order a new tire tomorrow for a road trip this weekend. Wanting to run a mezeler z8 160/60/18 or me880 150/70/18 for the front. Trying to go as wide as possible on the factory wheel (3.5 in? please confirm) not worried about the front fender, I'll figure that part later. I saw a few posts on here saying a 130/80 was the widest that I could run, but I've seen a couple other forums saying they have run a 140 and 150. Any suggestions? Thanks!! Also, avon roadrider makes a rear 150/70-18 that says will fit down to a 3.5 rim.

just ordered the roadrider 150 for the front. will post fitment results.
