Re: DANGIT...I GOT SCREWED
The first tire I had plugged was with a special plug that the dealer said kind of vulcanizes. I rode that tire 15,000 miles with no air loss. the second was with the sticky rope and I rode it 5,000 miles with no problems. both holes I had were in the center of the tread.

Re: DANGIT...I GOT SCREWED
Plugs are fine, but I think I'd just take it off and patch it from the inside. I'd feel a lot better.

Re: DANGIT...I GOT SCREWED
I had a brain fart. The reason I ran the plug in the first one is because I was on the road and didn't know of anyone that would be able to remove the tire and patch it. The second tire was getting close to replacement anyway so I just ran it with the plug. I agree it would be better to put a patch on the inside.

Re: DANGIT...I GOT SCREWED
Hundreds of plugs out there putting in thousands of miles...just don't trust a plug to any part of a sidewall. Ever. Actually, it's recommended to be 1" AWAY from the sidewall.

Re: DANGIT...I GOT SCREWED
Ya it's getting worse, trying to get one plugged. Hell I can remember back in the day, you would have 1/2 doz or so plugs in a tire, take it on the freeway and not bat an eye.

Re: DANGIT...I GOT SCREWED
you're right, of course, because this entire country has become sue-happy. The entitlement crowd I'd say are at the forefront of it.
