Tire Size Empty Tire Size

I am running a 195/55/16 on my goldwing right now and was thinking of going to a 195/60/16 if I am thinking right this would be a little narrower than the 55. Also I have about 8,500 mi on my tire now with a good amount of tread, how often should you lub the rear wheel inter gears is it safe to go 16,000 or 18,000 miles without doing so. Thanks in advance.

I think the difference is the aspect ratio which means the 60 series tire sidewall is 5% taller.
The section width in both tires is 195mm. hmmm

I have found over the years that the width will also change with the aspect ratio (not greatly, and will vary from one manufacturer to another) therefore I believe the 60 series will also be slightly narrower than the 55 series. thumbup
