Post  bowdktr Tue May 08, 2012 6:37 am

Okay I put on a c/t a Bridgestone Potenza 205/60r/16g019 now my question is now that I am running what I presume is a radial on the back should I switch to a radial on the front I must say Ive run this c/t now for some 600 mi and no issues but its getting time to replace this one .I know this sounds like a dumb question after what I just said but maybe its better??? Please advise if at all possible the bike is a 2010 Kaw voyager 1700 Thanks

I've been wondering the same thing, I have a 1988 Voyager 1200 that I just switched to a CT on the back, yes your tire is a radial, some people on my Voyager site says you can not put a radial tire on the 88's rim. But them again some also said you can't run a CT either. I compaired the bead on both the CT and the MT and they was exact, as was the rim beads. I would love to have the much smoother ride on the front like I do on the rear now. Hopefully some one will chime in. Of course the dealers want nothing to do with this at all in my area. I can't get a anwser about a radial MT for my front from them.

Mix or match it doesn't matter. On a car you don't want to run them mixed on the same axle.

I'm guessing that is the same thing with a Gl1500 (mix or match) ?

I've been running a mixture of radial and biased bike tires for years with great success and absolutely no problems. Right now, I've got radial car tires on the rear of both bikes, Concours and 900C, with bias front tires, again with no problems. Cornering is not affected and is quite good.

I have run a radial with the potenza in the rear and I went back the the bias, The radial for the money didnt make that much difference to justify the extra money.
