'81 GL1100 Wing
I have an '81 GL1100 wing that I am making into a "Cafe'd Bagger". I would absolutely love to run a car tire on the rear.
Has anyone done this yet, and if so, what size & brand??????

Sorry but there is not a CT to fit the 1100. No clearance to the swingarm at the driveshaft(right side).

Re: '81 GL1100 Wing
Just wondering if you had got with your friend that runs a VW tire size for the GL1100? I'm really tired of paying double (or triple) for a MT...& them not last a season!
Thanks,

Re: '81 GL1100 Wing
I've never heard of an 1100 running a CT, I know of a 1200 that uses a 165/80/15. If you can find one, it might fit. Good Luck

Re: '81 GL1100 Wing
I'm hoping to run a car tire on my 1978 GL1000, which has a 4.5 x 17 rear wheel.
Probably can fit a 185/65-17 tire, if there is such a size available.

Stay away from the M&H tire, thats for the front of a dragster. You won't get many miles out of that tire, I bet it won't last 4k miles.
