Crazy looks yesterday while riding.

Road the bike up to Bass Pro yesterday to get some ammo for an upcoming goose hunt in Missouri. Temp was showing as 39 and not a bad ride at all. However, I did get some crazy looks from alot of people who sit in tree stands when it is 20 and snowing! Imagine that! LOL ok, I've been guilty of sitting in the tree stand too! One guy even ask if I was riding the bike because I had to or just wanted to!

I GET THAT QUESTION ALL OF THE TIME...MY NORMAL REPLY IS "WHY NOT"....OR...."BECAUSE I WANT TO AND I CAN"...OR .. ""ITS NOT RAINING IS IT".....NOW I WILL PURPOSILY RIDE IN THE RAIN FOR A PATRIOT GUARD ESCORT....DRESS WARM......RIDE SAFE...........ESKIMO

I know the look, and the unending questions. It's all good. I am riding when it happens and that makes it worth it. It is nothing for me to be out in the teens once the roads have cleared of the moisture, frozen or otherwise. I will also ride in the first snows until it gets old enough for the roads to freeze.

Oh of course I have gerbings..
The coldest I have ridden in was -6*..

20 for me, but no gear. Now I have the first gear suit and Hotfinger mittens, I'll hope to see the singles if it gets down there this winter.
Let 'em look. As long as they SEE us, right?

Gerbins are on my list of "to get" this year. I am just not sure what all I need with the hook ups and all with my bike yet nor do I know if it stays cold long enough around here to bother with them. I can usually ride in the mid 30"s pretty comfortable with just the riding gear I have.

If you do any night riding in the fall & early spring .. You will be surprised how much you would use it..
Even in the rain when it's that chilly kind...
Start with the Jacket liner with arms.. And gloves...And you will need a controller...
It will be the BEST investment you do to your bike ...

I have gloves that are well over 10 yrs and a liner is too...
Now they have Micro wire.. Mine are all the old wires..

Also the wires are guaranteed for life... And they will repair zippers,riped seams .. for about $45.00
Not to bad. And they will check out the wires to make sure they are still running good and NO shorts...

Wow! Now thats a "cool" ride!! I don't think Tennessee has seen a snow like that since about 1993. Heck, we can barely get around when it rains!

ah! blizzard of 93, I remember that, snowing so had I drove right past my driveway and didn't see it, in NH we got 40" my Dad was dring back from AZ, got stranded in MS a couple days when he waited for the snow to melt and the roads to reopen

This was me back in 2010...
I ran out before the storm hit ,We had company for that week and needed to stock up ...
It was clear when I lef,tBut rode right into it on the way home

If I had a dualsport, I would totally get a set of tires and do snow rides! That's as much fun as mud, only cleaner!

don't believe for one minute that snow is cleaner than mud,

mud doesn't corrode, eat your wiring harness or brakes, I pity you if there is any other steel or copper. aluminum actually fares well with salt, summertime bug splats are worse

I pay dearly everytime I have my bike serviced with stuck fasteners

Ya know my Valk is a 99 ... w/150.813K It has been ON the salt flats @ speed week.. very little corrosion ..
And I ride all winter when I can get down off the mountain.. Heck I haven't washed it yet this winter

LOL a Valk is far from a dual sport

Dirt bike tricks. Spray PAM all over it before riding, things like that. Then you can heat your lunch too...

i live in fl where you can ride most of the year with minimal winter cloths and i ride to work everyday and even riders think im nuts if i ride when it hits in the 30s i leave at 3;15 in morning and love everyminute of it coldest i rode was in the teens average is around 35 at night with a few cold ones .ride safe theres cagers out there
