Made the move
I have been reading for about 8 months now about using a car tire on a 2007 VTX 1300-R. A metal banding strap in the road made them time NOW! When I Iran over it it cut across the Dunlop in 2 places but didn't flatten you could see cord. Reading on VTXOA and VTX CAFE the deabate over car tires and then this board I decided to take the plunge. It is probably the best improvement I have ever made in a Tire. I chose the Michelin Hydro Edge it was 2 months old a fresh new tire, not a old one sitting on a shelf. I had looked at Cycle Gear the Metzler 880 they had in stock was 2 years old. So I picked up my Tire from a warehouse $132.00 Went to Sparks MC SHOP they mounted it on the stock rim with a new 90 deg metal valve stem and balance for $21 I had the wheel off . I took the bike on a 250mi run From Tucson to Tombstone to Bisbee and back on the interstate, lots of back 2 lane twisty mountain roads. It handled very well I ran 38 psi I did notice coming out of the turns it wants right itself but it is not a drastic move but a gentle feeling. I was a very noticable in the smoothness of the ride. I am going to wait till I have more miles on it before I play with the pressure I am very please with it so far I HAVE READ SO MUCH ON NOT TO USE A CT on a motorcycle this is my decision totaly the negative seem to talk about Motorcycles in General not heavy cruisers. And it seem that MT manfactures make a one kind fits all styles. Thaks so much for this board and suppling all the post of other experiences

I took the Woman on a ride this last Saturday up around central AZ through the canyons and the flats a 271 mi round trip with 2 other bikes. Both VTX's a C and a R they both watched how I tracked/footprint. They said that I had the tire on the pavement but it appeared that it rose up on the sidewall of the tire on aggressive turns. It is hard to see footpring in a turn as you are operating a bike and watching @65 miles an hour. The ride was smooth so smooth the lady was falling asleep THATS A FIRST, going over tracks and pot hole was easier on her.

It is a Michelin tire, it is actually a winter snow/ice tire, a little softer rubber than an all season tire. Several on the GL1800 board have run it all year. I rode it hard in some above 100 degree temps on some nice twisties in North Kentucky and loved the way in gripped! Handles well in the rain too. I only had the wing for about 800 miles before I put this tire on her, the Michelin is alot smoother than the stock Bridgestone and for a MT they aren't bad. Time will tell what kind of mileage I get, I'm at about 6000 and it still looks new.
