Hope I don't get booted out of here on my first post, but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on putting a car tire on a BMW. I've done a search for BMW and nothing came up. confused

Welcome
I know some FJ guys are running car tires. What is your stock size? And how much clearance do you have?

BMW R1100RT Empty Pictures

I appologize for not knowing the right answers. I have posted some pictures here on Flickr, but I'm not aloud to post external links for 7 days since I'm new. If you can put this back together, than you'll find my photos.

I'm not sure how much info you will be able to deduce from them, but I can tell you that I can't fit my finger in between the fattest part of the tire and the swing arm on the right side and there may be about an inch between the tire and the exhaust pipe on the left side. There seems to be some reasonable space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the seat area, but I don't know how much that would matter.
Thanks again for any help in the matter.

That is gonna be a hard one... 160/60/18 is pretty narrow. hmmm
I think the narrowest car tire in an 18" diameter is going to be a 215 section width and that is going to be about 2" wider than your stock tire.
As far as height, a 215/45/18 would be perfect, but I think its width will interfere with your swing arm. Sorry... Shrug
