Need car tire for 1800R Empty Need car tire for 1800R

Post  colopaddler Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:10 am

I have an 02 1800r that I put a Hydro edge 205.65.16 on 10,000 miles ago and the tire still looks brand new. I now want to put a car tire on the front...has anyone found a car tire size that works for the front?.....

also, I am very disapointed that the hydro edge is no longer manufactured!!!!

On another note: are the car tire users remembering to take the rear tire off and grease up the gears around 7-10,000 miles?

Cheers, Scotty

I don't think anyone makes a tire even close to the size you need, not that it would be a good idea if someone did. nope

We DO NOT RECOMMEND putting car tires on the front...with the geometry of the bike you can get onto the side walls and that would spell disaster!

So if you could find a size...the answer would be NO! Nada...no way.....zilch.....donut hole.....don't!!! etc!

Avon roadrider rear 150 70 17 is as close to the factory size (150/80/17) as I could find but it has worked out well for me, the onlu difference is about .5 inch shorter, not enough to make any noticable difference. I got mine at the Motorcycle Superstore online for I think about 117.00

If you want a fatty on the front then check if a Harley tire will do it for ya..... They do have a really fat front on a few of their models.
