Tire choice questions
I am going dark on my 2007 1800R. I was on the 1300R but it was totalled......now I need a new tire on the 1800. ran over something and got a leak in the Metz880.
I see that many use 205/65 or 70 R16. If I go with a 60-series GYTT what will that do to my speedo (which is pretty 'on') as I have stock-sized Metz880s now?? I don't wanna have to get a speedo-healer if i don't have to.
I had a HE on the 1300. It is speed rated at 118 Max. which is a push for the 1300. Not so much for the 1800. Has anyone had any issues with that since the GYTT is 130mph rated?? Not that I go that fast but I like LOTS of room for a safety margin.
If the HE is on backorder, well, i need a different option to keep riding so am considering the 60 series.
THANKS GUYS!!!!

Re: Tire choice questions
Speed ratings are based on a tire's full load bearing rating, on a motorcycle you are no where near that weight.
You have a lot of cushion.
I would recommend a 60 or 65 series tire for your 16 inch rim.
The 60 series will make your speedometer read a bit lower which usually corrects most of the error the factory allows.
Take another look at the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred 205/60/16, I think it is a good choice.

Re: Tire choice questions
Went with a GYTT 205/60R16. looks nice.
bike is lower so i need to put it on blocks to get my jack under it now.
No rubbing I can see so far (60 miles).
Gotta re-aim the headlight too.
Thanks Guys!!!!
