Going to cross over on a 2010 Vulcan Voyager
Have done my research and am ready to cross over. I have read that a Yokohama AVID 205/65R16 or a Bridgestone 195/65/R16 or a Potenza 205/60R16 will fit my bike. I also read in a post for the 205 that there was credit card clearance on the side. I am leaning toward ordering the Bridgestone 195. Any suggestions/complaints/praises either way. Have a local shop that will mount and balance. I do mostly interstate riding. Have over 20,000 on bike in 10 months. Tired of changing tires. On my third rear tire.
Thanks

Well Lobo,
You've come to the right place. The 195 is just a shorter tire but either one should do you fine. Hopefully others with experience with your bike will come give you more true experience. Welcome to our site.

SHORTER ??? I thought a 195 would be narrower than a 205.

Re: Going to cross over on a 2010 Vulcan Voyager
the first figure is the width of the tread, the second figure is the aspect ratio of width to height. So a 195 65 will have a height of 126.75 mm from rim to tread and the 205 65 with be 133.25 mm. Difference of 6.5 mm, or about 1/4".
Not much difference, but is shorter on paper. However, I've found that the figures do not always tell the whole story and that different brands tires with the same set of numbers have a different diameter.
