gl 1200 darkside 15" tire
i installed a 145/ 80 15 bf goodrich then went to a 155/80 15 bf goodyear the tire mounted with lots of lube and a little axle grease in the last 4" to seat the bead the grease seemed to work i am now looking to mount a 165/80/15 soonno need to machine the rim just clean it good and use lots of lube

With the 165...you should run a little higher pressure on it because of the weigh of you bike. JMO

165/80/15 on a honda gl 1200
I mounted a 165/80/15 nexen tire on the rear of my gl 1200 went on easy once I set the tire and rim next to the heater for 15 min used a little axel grease an the rim and 50 lbs of air pressure to mount it
