Will this REALLY fit??
Been lurking a while--at least until now when I need to replace the tires on the bike. I know you guys say it will fit. I just need some reassurance.
I have a 2007 1300R. I just bought a 205/70R15 Hydroedge to mount on the rear wheel. It looks too wide to fit under the fender. Please reassure me or tell me to return it and get the right one........

Re: Will this REALLY fit??
Can't speak for the HE, but my buddy has the same bike with a 205/70/15 Dunlop Signature on it, and will run another if he can ever get it to wear out.
Oh, and he didn't have to cut any bolt or anything - he weighs the same as me, 215-220 and we ride damn hard.

Re: Will this REALLY fit??
That HE will fit just fine. Deflate it to make easier to get in. turn your muffler mounting bolt around 180 degrees and you should be good to go.

Re: Will this REALLY fit??
Thanks for the reassurance and advice. I noted that the stock dunnie had a hard time coming out past the muffler bolts. With the stock wheel/tire sitting on the HE on the garage floor that HE looks, well, oversized in width. It's gonna be great once mounted up. Just waiting for my new 880 for the front and I'll take both over for mounting. Then I'll have to 'wear off the mold release.' Isn't that code for a nice long easy ride?
So how do I submit for my new helmet??

Most turn the muffler bolts around when doing the darkside to make it easier to install.
Congrats on your choice to go darkside!! You will love it!

Re: Will this REALLY fit??
I would just suggest normal riding for a time, then after the tire is scrubbed well, take the corners gradually harder over several rides until you find your pegs. That way, the tire never gets completely on the mold release in a lean.

Re: Will this REALLY fit??
I did a couple parking lot burn outs, then rode 100 miles or so. Every curve I took it hooked up tighter. Did about 800 miles of twistys this last weekend in southern Mo. Scraped the boards several times and just couldn't believe how well it held the curves!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you are enjoying it Frank! Wish I could have ridden with you this weekend I would love to have checked it out. Yes I have never felt as stable in the corner as I do with the darkside!

Well, got the HE mounted. Took 80 lbs to bead it. 3 oz. of dynabeads. I'll get it on thee bike tonight and test it tomorrow. I'm getting excited for a new experience!

Be sure to take it easy until you get the mold release off the tire!

Re: Will this REALLY fit??
Got it all put on the bike. Hardest part was remounting the saddle bags. Went for a 5-6 mile.test ride. It's nice. All the talk of how the bike will track the ruts more had me worried. Can't say it is much worse. Leaning in turns is not bad--it feels slightly different but I can't say it wants to pop up or resist a lean significantly. I have plenty of room for the HE at 40 lbs. Once the mold release is gone i'll mess with the pressure. All in all my initial impression is GREAT!
