Gl 1500 Rear tire
I read that the Vredestine Comtrac 175 75r 16 tire is just a little taller (.13) that the
160 -80-16 stock tire. You can use this calculator to see the difference.

I have the Dunlop run flat 175 60 16 on mine now and love everything except the higher rpm’s. It has nearly 10,000 miles and looks nearly new. I will be putting the 175 75 16 on as soon as it arrives. I read that a minor modification to the inner fender brace is required. Ill keep you posted.
For those that want to use the Vredestine Comtrac 175 75r 16 tire.

Re: Gl 1500 Rear tire
Just put that Vstein on the rear of our hacked 1500 last year and just love it! Haven't noticed any interference with the support bracket but I will check on it. I removed the shocks, reinflated the tire as it goes in easier deflated and jacked the rear wheel up while spinning it. No rubbing was noticed. Hope this helps, Rick.

Formoza FD2 and GL1500
I have a 1989 GL1500 and after reading hundreds of post all stating that they have installed the Federal Formoza FD2 175/60R16 on their GL1500's I ordered one. After getting it I felt that there was no way it was going to fit. I took the bike to the local Honda shop and after trying everything, I was right, it Wont fit. It is at least 15cm too wide. It wont even slide into the wheel well.
I ended up buying a Dunlap Elite 3 at 3 time the cost. I'd still like to put a car tire on, but the only size that will fit is a 160/60R16, but no luck finding one.
Anyone know where I can find one this size??????
