205-60-16 is the largest I can put on my 05 nomad and it only has credit card clearance on shaft tube ,has to be installed deflated.

195 is the closest to factory mc size but I couldn't find any with a tread pattern I liked.I have ben running this tire over three years and it has never rubbed. You will have more clearance at highway speed than you do at rest because the tire will grow in height and shrink in width due to centrifical force I chose the goodyear tripple tread because of the tread pattern and it works very well in all conditions and it beaded at less than 50 lbs.

I've got a 2006 Classic should be the same. I just started running a General Altimax HP 205/60/16. Like the others said, it is close but clearance is clearance. It won't get closer. You will have to deflate it to get it back in place to put in the axel. It is a little taller than the stock and a little wider. The tire mounted on a 4.5" rim will pull the tire in some. It should work fine.
