New Moderators Have been Found.
Ok...since Twin, Smokey nor I have a Goldwing we'd like a GW owner to help moderate the GW tech section.
Any takers? PM one of us.
Thanks
joe

Re: New Moderators Have been Found.
Okay, It looks like Rocky and I are the two newest moderators. Good luck to both of us. We'll be monitoring this board and trying to help out where we can.
I'm on my second car tire, a run-flat Continental ContiProConctact 205/55R16 @ 28-30 PSI that I have put a little over 18000 miles on. It is just about due for replacement. My first car tire was a Toyo Proxes T1R 195/55R16 non run-flat @ 30 PSI. I can tell you that in my experience a run-flat is the way to go . Having said that I wouldn't be disappointed if the only tire I could use was the Toyo. I got 20,000 trouble free miles out it. In general I have found that a car tire has more traction than a motorcycle tire in all conditions, period. They will give a softer ride for more miles with more confidence than a motorcycle tire and provide better low speed handling. They do have an increased tendency to follow ruts or provide steering inputs over irregularities in the road but in my opinion that is a minor characteristic and most riders soon get used to it.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out.
Welcome to the Darkside.

Now you are someone who understands the Darkside. Oh, yea! Have you ever seen my durometer research on here as to why the car tire works so well?

Re: New Moderators Have been Found.
twin1300, where is your durometer testing posted? I'd be interested in reading it.
How can I set it up so my signature is always shown with out having to click on it every time?

Re: New Moderators Have been Found.
Awesome....Glad I could help! I did the original test just for me, because I didn't understand why it worked so good, and then I posted I went to the darkside....... All hell broke loose!..hehehe So, I decided to document the data for the morons that drink the coolaid, who think motorcycle tires are softer!
