OK, I have a 1999 HD Road King Classic. The stock tire is 130/90-16. Is/are there any resources where I can get a reliable CT based on that info?

All/any help is appreciated!

We just had a Harley switch over. You can look in the new Harley section. Welcome to the site.

we will need to know how much clearance you have for size fluctuation with the tread width..

EDIT: we are gonna need to know how much wider you can go as an initial search is not yielding much in the closest sizes....

I did the first Heritage recently and got the Hog forum started here - if you can't fit 6-3/8" in there, you won't find a 16 to fit: the Vredestein Comtrac 175/75/16 is the narrowest I could find in the world...BUT...the other day someone found a slightly narrower tire for antique cars that may work. It's in the HDForums.com in one of the darkside threads.
I posted my chronicle here: http://www.hdforums.com/forum/softail-models/538419-first-heritage-darksider-afaik.html
and on this site, but that one has guys interested and trying to fit their Harleys.

I think the rim on your bike is only 3", that will make it very hard to fit a CT

My bead seat is only 3" across, the rim is 5" total. The Vredestein is working very well for me in there. Width mounted and aired, 6-3/16".

so... does paying several thousand+ for a phat tire kit for a HD so you can run a CT work out? How many miles would one have to travel to pay for the kit in tire savings? Question

Who's putting on a fat tire kit? Mine is stock, with 3" bead seats. Also, I believe you'll get your better handling from a narrower tire anyway; less crossover effect. The later, I think '06 and so forth models, have wider tires, so will be easy to darkside.
I guess I'm just not understanding what you're saying there.
I notice some of the bikes have such large rear tires that they don't look like they belong there. At some point, you pass by "cool", IMO.

So, Quadancer...

I'm not sure exactly what you're saying here:

Do you ride a soft tail, or a road king, and were you able to find a tire that fit the RK, or was it for the soft tail?

I just need a little clarification, is all...

THANKS!!!
