Kawasaki Nomad 1700 - now on Darkside
I have a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1700 with a sidecar and yesterday mounted a Firestone 195/60/16 car tire in place of the stock 170/70/16 Bridgestone rear tire. I was not able to find any information about mounting a car tire on this bike (new model in 2009) and so went conservative in size. The 195 fit easily, and my mechanic and I agreed that we could have gone larger with no problem. If anyone has questions about mounting a tire on this bike, let me know.

Which make/model of side car did you install? Did they provide the connecting kit? Tons of questions as I am considering the same thing...

The sidecar is a Hannigan Astro GT, and it was installed at the Hannigan factory in Murray KY. They manufacture their own line of sidecars. They have mounts for a number of different models of motorcycles, and will custom manufacture mounts for just about any motorcycle. Ours was a custom installation as it was the first sidecar that they had mounted on our model bike (2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1700). I would be happy to answer other questions.

What I've learned
I've got the '09 Voyager and was HOPING to put a 205/65/16 on it. Everything I had read indicated that there was enough room.
HOWEVER--
The only way it will fit the voyager is with a shoe horn and astro-glide.
I tried the Bridgestone Turanza and it was just too big. There was enough room for a couple sheets of paper next to the belt guard, and It was hitting the front of the swing arm.
I have learned, in the last few days though, just about every manufacturer has slightly different specs for the same "205" nomenclature tire, so another brand MIGHT fit. I'm not holding my breath though.
I ended up with the Dunlop Sport 5000 in 195/60/16.
