I would go with the 205/65 which is a little taller and will make you speedo spot or real close. The 205/60 is just a tad shorter that a stock dunnie!

How's that!

I bought for the size of tire and not speed rating. Some people only care about the speed ratings. We ran the VW tire to start with in the beginning of the darkside the 1300's and it only had a speed rating of 107mph. It also is a time thing also. How long at that speed does it begin to deteriorate.

If you rarely get above 75 mph, it shouldn't matter what brand you get...if you are smokey and NEVER get under 75 mph, then go with the best rating you think you can stand. JMO

Here's what I put on mine. I'm at about 14,000 so far and still riding/looking great. This pic was taken a little over a month ago.

07 VTX C Model 1800 Empty Kar Tire Kuestion

Post  mike n Mon May 24, 2010 9:39 pm

My 02 XC Model 1800 Has an 205-60-16 GYTT and does tend to stand up and follow ruts and such... Now I have the GY Assurence 205-65-16 on my 07 X C Model 1800.I put 8,000 miles on the stock dummy and was kaput. Now the new 205-65 handles the same as the bike tire the feel is the same? theres seems to be a major difference between the 205-60 and the 205-65 but why?
