Float problems
Almost finished with the bike. Went for a testride yesterday, but the fuel is pooring
near the carb, where the air filter is attached.
Can it be that the float (hope this is the correct English word)is stucked since the bike
stood still for abut 4 weeks. This is what the mecanicer tells me.
I'm shooting flames out of the pipes, mainly the one from the front.
Also the fuel pump has been replaced. I'm not sure about how its positioned right now. Can
this be of importance. Should it always be in a horzontal or vertical postion or doesn't it matter?
Thx. in advance for the input.

Re: Float problems
Sounds like it could be a seal thats leaking. I would take it back to the guy that put it on and have him check it out. He shouldn't have let you have the bike back in that condition. Or the gas line might not be tight.

Then I would definately check the hose clamps to make sure they are tight.

re float problems
If you think the bike is running in a flooded state,be real careful, you can easily dillute your crankase oil with gas ruinin your engine or actually causing an internal explosion,I have seen it happen quick. Your friend stateside Larry S.

Re: Float problems
Guys, many thx. for all the advice.
Had the tank cleaned as well as the carb, float and breather.
Tank was clean, carb and float had some dirt. Needle was polished and they advised me to
buy a new one anyway, which I'm gonna order in the US.
Bike runs smooth now. Have to get used to the hardtail and the saddle.
Will try to put the pic's on one of these days.
Thx. again and have a great riding weekend.
