For those of your running the goodyear TT in 205-70-15, what pressures are you running. Where is a good place for me to start? Start high and adjust down or vice versa?

I don't run that brand, but a good place to start is what the manufacture suggests!..... Very Happy

I would tend to agree cept I'm sure the manufacturer didn't have this set-up in mind when he made his recommendations! Smile

that's correct, that's why I say a good place to start. I didn't say to stay! I have always found between 5-7 psi around the manufacture to be good or dead on the pressure they suggest!

pressure on the TT 205-70-15 Empty Tire pressure

Post  starider Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:35 am

Went on a 60 mile ride yesterday. Longest ride so far on the CT. I wasnt happy when I got home. I live in the Hill Country, 20 miles north of San Antonio. Great riding here. No straight roads. Curve after curve and up up and down. The Goodyear has this flat profile. I tried to find a CT with a more rounded profile. No tire shop here had the 205/65/16 in stock. Any way I was able to induce a wobble on the straights. And cornering require more concentration at speed. I dont know if more or less tire pressure will help. Anybody out there know of a great CT for bikes? Cant recomend the Goodyear Assurance yet, only have about a hundred miles on it. But as of now, I dont like it for a MC.

We will get Kermit and some others to answer your questions about the Goodyear tire. They can help! Air pressure changes will make it fit your riding style...that's for sure!

+1 ,,, air pressure has just as much to do with the way you ride as the feel you are looking for.

I started at 42psi went for a drive (20miles) and went down by 3psi to 39psi , drive, down 3psi , drive, down 3psi, drive.
the best for me , the way i drive , my tire , the feel i want and the roads i mostly ride on is between 36psi and 40 psi.
that's me, good luck

pressure on the TT 205-70-15 Empty Tire Pressure

Post  starider Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:08 pm

I adjusted my tire pressure down to 36 psi today and now Im happy I put the CT on the bike. The bike now handles almost exactly like it did when I had the MC Dunlop on it. The Goodyear Assurance Fuel MAX is rated for up to 51 PSI. So I started at 43 psi. PLUS the ride now is smoooooth. Cool
