Ok there I am wanting to come to the darkside. I have a 1997 Honda shadow ACE1100. My question is what are my choices in darkside rubber. The look of the darkside rubber on these scooters cheers is impossible to say no to.

moparmandjh has a 97 1100 ACE and is running with a Douglas xtra trac 195/65/15. But I think you can run anything from a 165 to a 205. What kind of riding do you do? How many miles a year? Commute to work every day? Two up?

I think you can go with a General altimax hp, goodyear triple tread, or Michelin hydro. All come in 185/195 and have great looking tread patterns. All of these have been tested on bikes with success.

I have a 1996 1100ACE and am running the 195/65x15 doulas xtra trac. I am currently up in the colo mts at salida colo . We have been running the twisties in the mts 2-up with a trailer and it sticking to the road like glue . I have no regrets switching over , oh and it was a 800 mile ride to get out here. Wife says it ribes like a dream. Good luck on what ever choice tire you decide to run , oh and do not forget the dyno beads to balance the tire with . Its is the only way go .

Thoroughly pleased with mine, really not sure if I want to step up to the 205 or not.

Will a 205 fit the fender? Is it a 65 or 70 width? Sorry for the questions, but the list isn't working for me right now...

This forum is here for questions. No worries!

I have a 205 on mine and it fits with room to spare in the fender. Mine is a 1990 VT1100C.

Thanks Tim. I have a 95 ACE 1100 and the fender is a little different s oI just wanted to make sure it didn't rub. Stock it comes with the 180 and the 200 Metzeler MC tire supposedly fits as they are reported to run a little thinner than others. Just getting my ducks in a row as I'll need a new tire soon.
