My biggest problem i have to run to hesston Ks to get some frigging spoke weights GRRRRRR . So have to wait till tomorrow to put it on the road . HEHEHE

Welcome
Everyday I am seeing more and more people going darkside. I get the feeling on the OB that it being more and more accepted. I love the tire myself and it suits my riding style perfectly. I know that there are bikes I would not go dark with but on the cruzer there is no substitute.

Just sayin

Go with the dynabeads, they work great. Plus they never need to be rebalanced.

Welcome and congrats on going to the dark side. You'll be happy with that Douglas...it'll last forever. I have 15k on mine and it's probaby got another 10 in it. Be sure to pull your tire every 15k and grease the spines.

What part of Kansas are you from? I went to high school in Fort Scott, have friends in KC, Parsons, Ft. Scott, Pittsburg, and Independence. Great bike riding around there...just watch out for tractors and combines!

With the tubes, you can put the beads in at day 1.

Take the stem valve out. You don't need a special valve to replace it. But you will need the valve stem tool. A "vibration tool" like an engraver will be handy to put the beads in, but for tubes it won't be as important since you can put them in with the tube out and before you put the tube in the tire if you like.

Some good riding around Hutch. Flint hills just east of you. Going to ride that one of these days.
