A friend of mine printed an article of yellow wolf trying out a car tire on the dragon...as soon as twin shows me how to copy it to here, I will. Basically, he was very surprised and no longer hates c/t on wings.

Hey Brother,

After you told me about Yellowwolf and the darkside, I had to go read it. Yes, I also saw where they were taking votes on whether he would like it or not. They majority said he wouldn't......hehehehehe He liked it very much and he tamed the dragon with salt and sand on it and it didn't slip on him.

For any of you guys who don't know who Yellowwolf is....here's one of his video's. You will be impressed. Turn the sound up so you can hear the motors and the scraping!!!!!!

Thanks Daniel,

I found some more data on GL1800 forum with some more pics, I heard he ran a 13.45 on roads like this. His best is in the 11 second range.

This is a pic of the roads on the dragon when he tested the car tire....Shocked Shocked Here is yellowwolf's quote of the pic. "so why only a 13:46 min run?????? does this look fun?. "

I love that video. Looks like a ride at Disneyworld. I know I'll never be that good at the twisties but I wish I was. I wish we had a pic in a pic with him with a dash cam. Now that would be waaaaaaaay cool.

I don't care if it is a 6 year old thread! I gotta bring it back to the top! I'm active over at ADVRider, and have found that talking about the darkside over there is pointless. Some posters like car tires, some hate them, but you can't mention a car tire without the thread dissolving into a pissing match where people get banned. Dropping the words "car tire" into any thread is akin to dropping a bucket of cut up fish into a school of shark.

Anyway - I read this thread about Yellow Wolf when I first joined up here. I always wondered if he continued to ride darkside on his Wing and how he liked it. A few days ago, this showed up on ADV:

Which is a pic of YellowWolf on a car tire shod Goldwing on the Dragon. This lead to another huge feeding frenzy. It died down a bit, then the man himself chimed in:

YellowWolf wrote:
really you folks got nothing better to do than talk about a washed up 50 yr old on a wing with a car tire, hahahahahaha

I don't want to ruin this thread with facts but what the heck

1-im 3 min slower than the fastest sport bikes there,9.7 miles,,,thats like forever

2-the guy on the ducati was faster but was getting a video done at the time so that's why he did not leave me

3-the car tire"on a wing" has a larger contact patch"ran both thru water in a corner and measured",can lay down more throttle coming out of the turns with out spinning like my bike tires did,and my runs are timed and are just a tic faster with a car tire
in the rain there is way way more grip!!

4-i ride to have fun,be with friends, share a common interest some of you should try it!!!!

things that are NOT true
I am not the fastest time on the dragon
when I videoed I never said if you leave me the video is free, lol
I did not die in a bad wreck at the dragon"yes ive heard that one,lol

He claims he's faster on a car tire than on a MC tire. And says traction is better. I know this doesn't prove anything to members here - I just found it hilarious and wanted to share.
